The University of Porto is proud to host the 11th International Airborne Wind Energy Conference (AWEC 2026) from June24-26, 2026. Following previous editions in Chico, Stanford, Leuven, Hampton, Berlin, Delft, Freiburg, Glasgow, Milan, and Madrid, this next conference will take place at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto (FEUP).
Over three days, leading experts from academia and industry will come together to exchange ideas, present research results, and discuss the latest developments in the rapidly evolving field of airborne wind energy (AWE).
Since its inception in 2009, AWEC has served as the premier global forum for scientists, researchers, and entrepreneurs dedicated to advancing airborne wind technologies. The conference features oral and poster presentations, panel discussions, and ample opportunities for networking and collaboration.
Since 2019, AWEC has been jointly organized by the European Academy of Wind Energy (EAWE), Airborne Wind Europe, and Delft University of Technology, bringing together a strong and diverse community driving innovation in sustainable wind energy.
