EAWE awards every year the EAWE Excellent Young Doctor Award’ to a graduate Doctor in wind energy.
The EAWE Excellent Young Wind Doctor Award recognizes exceptional doctoral dissertations in wind energy.
This award highlights the innovative research and significant contributions of young scientists in the field.
It is given to those who have defended a thesis of great relevance to the advancement of wind power, demonstrating a clear impact on future development and/or implementation of wind power technologies.
This award is open to PhD graduates who have completed their dissertations in the field of wind energy. Nominees must demonstrate exceptional quality and innovation in their research.
Thesis should have been defended in the calendar year before the award (e.g. in 2023 for prize in 2024). A thesis can only be considered for evaluation once.
The PhD thesis should be of significant relevance for the further development of wind power and should demonstrate impact on future development and/or impact on the implementation of wind power.
The PhD thesis should preferably be written in English. If thesis is not in English because of institutional regulations, a number of journal publications written in English language should be submitted that should represent the work of the thesis.
Nominations for the Excellent Young Wind Doctor Award can be submitted by EAWE members. The process involves completing an online nomination form and providing supporting documents such as a CV and a summary of the nominee’s contributions.
The nomination should be supported with a motivation of the PhD supervisor and a motivation by a recognised senior wind energy expert from a different institution who has not been involved in the supervision of the project.
The selection committee consists of experts in the field of wind energy.
Nominations will be evaluated based on criteria such as research impact and innovation.
The winners will be announced at our annual conference.
