Engage, learn and inspire with our DEI events

Join our events to share experiences and contribute to the ongoing dialogue around diversity, equity, and inclusion in wind energy

"Voices of DEI in Wind Energy" community

In this group, we share personal experiences and stories in the area of DEI with the wind energy science community, aiming to learn from and inspire each other, as well as to highlight and understand the key important aspects and identifying measures for improvement.

We welcome anyone to participate, regardless of background, experience or EAWE membership status. You can participate as much or as little as you’d like.

This link takes you to a Google Form, in which you will be asked to share your email address as a minimum (name, organisation and other demographics are optional and are only used for statistical purposes). You will then receive a Microsoft Teams invitation to our regular meet-up sessions. We won’t use your email address for anything else.

Regular online meet-ups

We meet regularly online with the following format:

  • Listening or reading contributed stories.
  • Break-out groups to discuss the stories and share our own experiences with optional documentation.
  • Presentation of the findings and learnings in the large group.

The launch webinar will take place on November 22nd, 2024. Sign up below.

In the future, we aim to publish recommendations or best practices based on what we all learn in this community in a safe and anonymous way.

Get your voice heard - contribute your story

This community can only thrive through stories contributed by its members. You can share your stories with us in three different ways:

Answer some specific questions in a Google Form

Your answers will be made available to the closed community as a PDF document (optionally anonymously), and optionally published on this website (optionally anonymously).

Answer the same questions in a short self-recorded video
  • Your video will be made available to the closed community, and optionally published on this website (optionally anonymously).
Answer the same questions in an in-person dialogue at one of the meet-ups (optionally recorded).

You can choose to answer one or all of these questions:

  1. Reflecting on your journey and career, can you share a pivotal moment or experience that highlighted the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI)?
  2. What obstacles or challenges related to DEI have you encountered along your path, and how have these experiences shaped your approach to your work?
  3. In moments of adversity, who or what has been your source of support or inspiration, and how has this influenced your advocacy for DEI within your professional community?
  4. Could you describe a specific instance where you felt empowered to make a positive change in promoting DEI, either through your work or within your broader community?
  5. Looking ahead, what are your hopes and aspirations for the future of DEI in wind energy science, and how do you envision your role in shaping this future?

This link takes you to the same Google Form, in which you can choose how you want to contribute your story.

We hope to see you at one of our meet-ups soon!
