The award recognizes exceptional academic and scientific achievements that have significantly advanced wind energy research and technology
The EAWE Scientific Prize Committee is responsible for selecting the recipient of the prestigious EAWE Scientific Award, which is presented annually to honor outstanding contributions to the field of wind energy. Since its inception in 2007, the EAWE Scientific Award has been recognizing individuals who have made major scientific contributions to wind energy. The award aims to celebrate excellence in research and inspire further innovation within the wind energy sector. It also serves to highlight the vital role of scientific inquiry and technological advancements in shaping the future of renewable energy.
The EAWE Scientific Prize Committee plays a key role in ensuring that the award is conferred to deserving individuals whose work has not only made a profound impact on the wind energy field but has also driven meaningful progress toward sustainable energy solutions worldwide.
The objective of the EAWE Scientific Prize Committee is to select an individual or team whose work has demonstrated major advancements in wind energy research, spanning various disciplines within the field, such as aerodynamics, dynamics, control systems, materials science, grid integration, and offshore technologies. The committee seeks to honor those whose work:
Demonstrates Scientific Excellence: The committee evaluates nominees based on the originality, depth, and impact of their research in advancing wind energy technology and knowledge.
Drives Innovation: Recognizing individuals whose work has led to groundbreaking solutions and innovations that contribute to the development of more efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective wind energy systems.
Fosters Global Impact: Awarding those whose research has had a significant impact on the international wind energy community and contributed to the global transition to renewable energy.
The EAWE Scientific Award is presented during the Gala Dinner at the EAWE Annual Conference (either Torque or WESC), where the winner’s achievements are celebrated by the global wind energy community.
