EAWE’s mission is to promote excellence in wind energy research across the academic sector, whilst WindEurope is the voice of the wind energy industry. These two communities cannot function in insolation. The Wind Europe Scientific Track Committee exists to bring these two communities together by ensuring that scientific innovation is embedded within the WindEurope conferences so that the research activities of the academy have real impact.
The EAWE WindEurope Scientific Track (WEST) Committee is one of the oldest committees at EAWE which was established to support WindEurope conferences. Professor Peter Tavner, Durham University, Professor Michael Muskulus, NTNU, and Professor Amir Nejad, NTNU, have been earlier chairs of the committee.
The main aim of the EAWE WindEurope Scientific Track (WEST) Committee is to support the Scientific Track of the WindEurope annual conference in close collaboration with WindEurope.
• To connect the Academy with WindEurope and foster the link with the wind energy industry.
• To organize the review process for scientific abstracts submitted to WindEurope conferences.
• To assist in the conception of engaging WindEurope conference sessions assisted by industry experts.
• To review and select the best WindEnergy conference posters to be awarded prizes.
• To advise WindEurope on the content of special topic conferences.
