Travel and Getting around

There are frequent flights from most large European cities to Helsinki. The Helsinki-Vantaa Airport is located about 20 km north of Helsinki city center. It is the only international airport near Helsinki and has good connectivity to the major European and number of intercontinental destinations.

Public transportation is well organised and widely used in the Helsinki metropolitan area. The distances within the region are fairly short. You have a variety of public transport, bus, train, metro and tram, to choose from. For more informationa on public transport, please visit Tips for visitors
