Shape the Future of Wind Energy Research

events

eawe organises its own events, supports as scientific partner the main events of WindEurope (annual and offshore events) and promotes public scientific events of eawe members.
Next to the annual eawe PhD seminars, the board of eawe has decided to run a scientific conference every year, with the Torque conference taking place even years and the new Wind Energy Science Conference (WESC) every odd year.
A main difference between the two conferences is that Torque is mainly related to technical sciences whereas WESC has a broader scope, covering all aspects in wind energy, including e.g. storage techniques, community acceptance and economics.

Sketched the main differences between the two conferences are:

Torque WESC
Technical aspects All aspects in wind energy
Full papers No papers, only abstracts
1/3 oral and 2/3 posters All oral presentations
Few parallel sessions Several parallel sessions
Even years Odd years

Torque Conference

The biennial scientific conference The Science of Making Torque from Wind had successfully establised itself since 2004 as Europe‘s leading scientific wind energy conference, taking place every even year.
Experts from academia and industry are discussing latest results and developments in fundamental and applied wind energy research.

WESC

The Wind Energy Science Conference (WESC) is a biennial conference taking place every odd year, starting 2017. The purpose of the conference is to gather leading scientists and researchers in the field of wind energy to present their latest findings in oral presentations and several parallel sessions, covering all scientific topics in wind energy.

PhD Seminars

The annual PhD seminar provides opportunity for PhD students and supervisors from all over Europe to exchange information and experience on research in wind energy. Mainly organized by PhD students at the institution in charge it includes slots for PhD students present their activities in talks and poster exhibition.
