EAWE’s PhD activities are designed to foster collaboration and development among doctoral students in wind energy.
An important part of EAWEs mission is to educate and connect PhD students.
To this end, EAWE supports the organization of a yearly PhD Seminar, with as main organizer the PhD student Committee.
Next to this, the PhD committee also supports EAWE in other matters, and two representatives are also invited in the general assembly.

In order to highlight and promote the high level of wind energy research performed by PhD students, EAWE annually presents the Excellent Young Wind Doctor Award to an outstanding dissertation in the field of wind energy.
The winner receives a price, is given the opportunity to publish his/her dissertation as a Springer book, and is invited to give a keynote lecture at the next EAWE PhD Seminar.
In order to support the training of PhD students, EAWE members participate in various national and international research programmes.
